The kernel acquires semantics

For seventy years the kernel was precise and ignorant: it scheduled everything and understood nothing. With an LLM as kernel, scheduling shifts from time slices to attention, arbitration from first-come to most-urgent — the OS finally knows what it is doing.

Every resource becomes semantic

Processes carry goals, storage is addressed by meaning, calls describe themselves with schemas. Machine resources stop being meaningless bytes and handles and become a network that can be reasoned over — the biggest jump in resource abstraction since virtual memory.

Interaction yields to intent

From punch cards to touchscreens, humans have hand-compiled intent into operations. The Model-OS moves that compiler into the machine: you state what, it compiles how. Not a better interface — the end of the interface.
